Naptown Stomp Operations Manager

Naptown Stomp is seeking a part-time employee to take on the role of Operations Manager to
complete weekly and monthly administrative tasks. Naptown Stomp is in transition to a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit, and is Indianapolis’s longest-running organization dedicated to the education and
preservation of authentic vernacular jazz dances like lindy hop, charleston, balboa, and more
through weekly lessons and social dancing.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for customer service communications (including
replying to emails and direct messages on social media), creating and maintaining the instructor
and DJ schedule for weekly and monthly events, coordinating workshops and special events,
overseeing volunteers, and more.

Our ideal candidate has a love for dance and/or the arts, a willingness to learn and grow, and a
passion for serving others through community engagement. While experience with and a
passion for jazz vernacular dance forms is preferred, it is not strictly required.

Job Description

Operations Manager

5-7 hrs per week at $15/hr of administrative duties, in addition to ~4.25 hours Thursday nights**

Duties

Customer service (emails, DMs, etc.)
Lead follow-up/customer retention
Simple website updates (new lessons, photos, etc.)
Schedule instructors/DJs for weekly lessons & events
Weekly communication with instructors (student info, announcements)
Email newsletters
Oversee social media & digital marketing (3 feed posts, 10 stories/week)
Venue coordination
Plan special events/workshops
Coordinate performances/outside events as needed
Communicate with Board of Directors to ensure vision alignment
Manage volunteer coordinator/volunteer program
Supervise Social Media Director and committees as needed

Meet weekly/monthly deadlines as set by the Board

**The Operations Manager is expected to attend all Thursday night Naptown Stomp
activities (with prior Board notice for absences, except for illness or emergencies). At this
time, attendance is not included in work hours or compensated, outside of free entry to
all Naptown events. Volunteers will staff the desk, and the Operations Manager should
be available for questions. The goal is for the Operations Manager to participate in
classes and dances to engage with the community.
