Naptown Stomp is dedicated to creating a safer space than we find in the world around us.

Attendees and participants at any Naptown Stomp event, as well as any event at which Naptown Stomp is an official participant, are expected to uphold these agreements. Disregarding them may result in being asked to leave or permanently banned [without refund].

Unacceptable behaviors include, but are not limited to:

  • Noncompliance with the current COVID policy
  • Violating personal space (While Naptown Stomp does not advocate being needlessly rude, attendees/participants have the right to avoid any conversation or physical presence that makes them uncomfortable). We encourage all of our attendees/participants to be aware of one another’s comfort and personal space, and if someone asks to be left alone, their request is to be respected.
  • Harassment, assault, or abuse including, but not limited to, verbal, physical, emotional, or sexual
  • Filming or photographing without consent
  • Defacing or littering on the event space or property in any manner
  • Serving alcohol to a minor
  • Inappropriate behavior while dancing (If a behavior or interaction looks questionable or someone looks uncomfortable, you are invited to politely approach and remind them of Naptown Stomp’s policies or ask if everything is okay.)

In unclear situations, benefit of the doubt will be given to the offendee.

Naptown Stomp encourages you to take initiative in respecting, setting, discussing, and defending boundaries. We are committed to resolving issues to the greatest extent possible. If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe confronting a situation, please talk to an officer, instructor, or other event/venue staff. If you feel uncomfortable with talking with person listed, please call the local police non-emergency number or one of the following agencies and hotlines. Remember, if you see behavior not adhering to these guidelines or you think might be inappropriate or even questionable, report it immediately, this includes event organizers, venue staff, or local police.

Finally, Naptown Stomp has a goal of creating a fun environment where anyone can come to dance and the responsibility lies with not just the staff or organizers but everyone present. Don’t expect someone else to speak up. As Ghandi said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.”
